Day 2
Today we drove from Rome to Lerici (technically a small village on the hill above Lerici called La Serra). On the way, we stopped in the small town of Porto Ercole. Ghost writer Greg taking over for sunburned Micki (I will try to man up with the entry, tough act to follow). Port Ercole was beautiful and a very, very old town on a bay with two huge forts overlooking the ocean entrance. We walked the town and checked out the local digs. Had a family Gelato snack (my first taste of the fake ice-cream, not so bad). The kidz "rock jumped" with graceful Greame and backwards Matthew pictured. Look closely you can see the custom suits the boys are sporting (when in Rome, sort of!). After the swim, back to the little red car for a not so direct route to Lerici. On a personal note the drivers in Italy are crazy!!! Many, many near misses and seven point turns on narrow roads are the norm....
Until tomorrow, Greg out!!!
Italian Word of the Day: Gabinetto (for Greg's sake)........ means bathroom
