Day 21
Day 21 - Termoli En Route to Pescara
On the Road Again!
We left in the morning (not too early!) to drive to our next destination along the Adriatic Coast....Pescara!
We stopped in a small town (Termoli) on the way. We were originally going to stay and hang out for a bit on the beach in Termoli, however it was VERY windy! Which ended up being kinda cool because there were windsurfers everywhere! Very "talented" windsurfers from what we could see.... they certainly made it look easy :)
We arrived in Pescara by 3:30 in the afternoon, and our host was at the apartment to greet us (thankfully since we had a little bit of concern as to whether or not we were in the right place). This is definitely the most interesting of our accommodations so far. Let's just say we are happy to only be here two nights!
It's not "bad"......it's just not "wow". Certainly not the view we have had with our other two airbnb locations!
We are definitely in with the locals at this location!
However, after settling in and then heading out (away from our apartment), things certainly started to look better and brighter! The central city of Pescara is busy and bustling with shoppers and tourists. Many streets and walkways just for pedestrians and lots of energy!
The beach is just a little further past the pedestrian walkways, and it is a real "sand" beach! We have been used to more rocky beaches since we have arrived in Italy, so this was a surprise! We spent time walking along the beach and picking out where we want to spend our time tomorrow.
We returned to the apartment for a home-cooked meal (thank you Alyssa!), and then went to sleep with the various noises of the neighbourhood in the background....... since most windows need to be open for air flow!
Ciao!
Love to All,
The Day Trippers (no night time excursions here....)
Italian Word of the Day: spiaggia which means beach (which is why we are in Pescara!!!)
