Day 29
Day 29- Treviso
Graeme Writes Today!!!!!
2 pages left in the book “Staples Take on Italy” and it's been a long one, with amazing characters that you fall in love with, adventures almost on every page, plot twists that you readers don’t see coming and hopefully a happy ending that everyone will enjoy. This second last page is an important one. This page leads up to the big finale that everyone is on the edge of their seat wondering what will happen next.
Today the Staples family got some much-needed extra sleep after 29 exhausting days. Breakfast was suppose to be at 9 but the deadline kept moving and moving and moving and finally everyone was up and out the door by 10:30, no Venice today as the KM of walking in a day start to slowly go down. We walked 13.3 km in Rome and we really haven’t even been close to that number since (6.4 km today) although no one is really complaining. The city we went to is a 15-minute car ride from our hotel, called Treviso. It is mini-venice with canals and winding walkways. Bicycles are allowed here though...as we had to dodge them often as they came around corners. We saw all the major sights including waterwheels, churches and an old castle. Very cool town and so close!
Stay on the edge of your seats....one day left!

Italian Word of the Day: scarpe which means shoes (finally got new shoes since my other ones were in bad shape.....holes everywhere and the sole was flapping every step I took.....Mom thought it was rather embarrassing but it might be why I was offered a discount??)
