Day 26/27
Day 26/27- Venice
Day 26 was a travel day. Some very extensive traffic meant a longer than expected drive! Surprising because we had not, up until that point, experienced any traffic anywhere in Italy! Not a big deal, we still managed to do a quick stop in Bologna and then arrived in Venice in time for some poolside R&R.
Day 27 was our first day in Venice! The waterways are really spectacular, however the canal system is confusing, to say the least. We walked the streets, meandering and always hopeful that we would end up in the right place. Our journey today included Basilica di San Marco, Piazza San Marco, Doge Palace, Rialto Bridge and of course a ride in a Gondola! We all agreed that the streets of Venice, although similar to some of the Tuscan towns, are more 'weathered'. This allowed Alyssa to use her "real" camera to capture some very different perspectives of old buildings, churches, doors, windows, walls, etc.
Love to Everyone,
The Waterlogged Gang
Italian Word of the Day: canale which means canal (seriously)
